I've been doing alot of reasearch on this guy's amazing ability to aquascape a tank, especially his use of plants.  I just received my lights for my 10, and while I'm setting that up I ran across that he apparently has published some books.

Nature Aquarium World; apparently a 3 book series.
Has anyone read through these books?  I was wondering if they would be worth getting.  I can find all the pictures and blurbs I want on the internet, but I was really looking for a How-To manual.

I'd figure plant people would know best, this guy simply works magic with the stuff he comes up with.

I've seen what he does with his aquascaping (only in pictures of course!) and it's amazing. I haven't read any of his books, but I'm sure they would be concise and informative. Then again you never know, so hopefully someone who has read them will be able to put in their two cents.

He does have a website for his substrate products and books and other things: http://www.adana.co.jp/index_e.php  <in case you hadn't come across it. In there somewhere you can download a pdf with a short how-to for simple aquascaping.

I have come across the website, just not in English.  Thanks, that helps, I can actually read it.
I'll look for that pdf and see how his writing comes across.

If it's anything like his monthly articles in Tropical Fish Hobbyist then I would get it. His articles are well written & accompanied with pictures & diagrams.

I downloaded that article on his website and it was very well done.  I noticed he had many plugins for his products (can't blame him).  I found some of then on ebay, so I'll watch em.  The first one seems harder to come by, with the third one very easy.

I, too, have seen many of his projects. They really made me want to get into aquascaping, so I'm trying to work with my 10g.

The books are nice to look at and they give you some great ideas.  However, they are a little short on the technical details.  So if you are looking for a cook-book type of thing, these aren't it.  The books were the bees knees when Amano was just becoming known in north america.

I have two or three of his books.  They are absolutely beautiful but offer little to no useful information.  If you are looking for something like his articles in TFH you are going to be dissapointed.  They are essentially picture books with just a few notes about what is in each tank.  They are great for inspiration though.
