I put my fish in the bag, hold it together and slip in an airline.  Once it's full and tight, (not too tight, you don't want it to burst) I tie it off or rubberband it.

haha, such an obvious thing to do, and yet i never would have though of it  Tongue Thanks

Thanks for the links Clint  Cool

pretty much you just clean the bottle and put the fish in with a funnel  fill it about like you would a bag.  overbag it for secondary containment.

Does anyone use those bag buddies? http://www.junglelabs.com/pages/details.asp?item=JT703
i saw in the articles that some people swear by them.  They turn the water blue right? I always wondered why the Betta containers at PetSmart had blue water lol.

I use them, but I couldn't tell you if it makes a difference to the fish  shrug .  It makes me feel better, so I drop one in bag. Smiley

you'll find about as many folks that don't use them because they have lost fish.  i lost every shipment until i stopped using them.  others will tell you they have never lost a fish.  not sure what the secret is.

I have used bag buddies in the past with fine results but I only use a small piece of one per bag as a whole tablet is recommended for 1 g of water. I don't use new water either when I ship.

The only fish I lost shipping was a shell dweller I couldn't get out of the shell so I made the mistake of shipping it in the shell and it likely got beat up pretty bad from the shell being in the bag with it.
