I'm glad you found something you like!  Just be aware though, that you're very overstocked for that tank, so just be sure to keep up on those water changes.   Smiley

For now though, how bout a couple Brigdesii snails?

I have to kindly disagree with that.  Bridgesii snails produce a lot of waste and requires 2.5g per snail.  So, getting a couple would not be a good idea for a 5g.

Glad you shared that, it's good to have more than one opinion on stocking suggestions.

I would definitely agree.
In my opinion platies even grow too large for 10 gallon tanks.
I would certainly not put them in a 5g.
A betta - 3 inches
3 platies- 9 inches
Youre about 6 inches over maximum stocking.

I would have stuck with shrimp, snail, heterandia formosa,
white clouds, or similar, fish that stay around 1 inch or less.

If you look up a couple posts, it was mentioned that the OP was overstocked and doing extra water changes to accomodate the extra bioload.
While it's not a stocking that most of us would do, it's what's working for the OP at the moment.  The OP was given other options other than the current stocking, so I believe that they're aware of their options.
