This is my 2.5 gallon Betta tank, with my betta Milan. I got the tank and Milan a week ago.

I only put the light on his tank for picture purposes, he doesn't like the light and I'm suprised he didnt flare and go crazy.

He must of knew I was taking pictures of him

Get your facts first! Then you can distort them as you please. You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way & the only way, it does not exist.

Ooo! Ooo!

I've already posted these somewhere else, but oh well.  Wink

Geh... both of those tanks need new water... Condition, tap!

Question, the first tank is kinda what I have my Betta in, does your ever go into the cylinder? Mine did and freaked me out.  Thanks.

I have he first tank in the picture too but I've never used the undergravel filter. In a tank that small it's really unnecessary. Plus with that much surface turbulence, your betta will never have a chance to build a bubble nest, which all mine love to do. Bettas like calm water.

If you want to keep using the filter though, to keep him from getting in the cyclinder, keep the surface water level below the top of the tube. Like leave it sticking out of the water a little. He won't be able to climb in it and get stuck then. I'd freak out if mine got stuck too!

For most of my tanks that are larger and need filtered (anything over 5 gallons should be filtered and cycled properly IMO) I use large sponge filters or box filters.

my 2 gal tank has a "cap" for the tube to help keep the fish out of it and helps slink the air tube up and out as well.   my betta seems to like the bubbles..  i have a "bubbler" in my 12gal, which is where my betta is now and she is always "running through it" like a kid in sprinklers!

bettas being diva's? noo way!  never!  lol my betty is such a diva, i swear she knows what my camera looks like and what it is as she is always first to get in front of it and she does this "posing" dance for it every time!

nice job on your betta tank though.. it looks great!   i like the other tank to! it looks almost identical to my 12 gal i have. is it a system 12 bow?  or eclipse system 12? (there are two that look identical but are slightly different)  thumbs up

"Aura! Bad betta! Leave the kitty alone!"

Here are my two boys:

This is my mustard gas betta, Aura. He's my little shark. It's a good thing he's not any bigger, or he would have taken my hand along with his dinner on several occasions. Grin

And this is Rorschach. I found him at my LFS (which is normally very good, if not stellar) with less than an inch of water in his container. I thought "Oh no, he's dead. And he's so pretty--" However, when I picked up the cup and tilted it, he started swimming!

ETA - Yes, his tail has a tear. I don't know exactly how he did it. He's being treated with Melafix and it's growing back well so far.

Both tanks are Eclipse System Threes - 3 gallons each. Two of the plants in Aura's and all of the green plants in Rorschach's are real. The substrate is coarse-grained sand - a little coarser than the playsand I have in my hermit crab tanks. So far I haven't added heaters - in my experience, the tanks stay at 77-80 without them. I think the acrylic does almost too good a job holding in the heat from the light. I'd eventually like to add a small bottom feeder or two, but I'm afraid ghost shrimp would end up on the menu (with Aura, anyway) and snails are probably out with the live plants.

Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada ? ( USA )
A:
A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Ca-na-da is that big country to your North...oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary. Come naked.
