You buy a complete set-up, Betta included, for a birthday gift.

Did that today...now my little niece will have her first "fishy". I gotta get her started while she's young!  bunny

when you spend 2 1/2 hours at the lfs talking about betta's and supplies for betta's and breeding betta's and how much they mean to you....  true story, did that yesterday! store staff person and myself both got teary eyed talking about how much we loved our betta's lol (i'm very proud of my diva! i love my cats but, i love my diva!)

Baku & Shoki

WHEN I SWEAR, I SWEAR I'm not buying any more bettas!!!!
What was I thinking buying one much less ending up with 3 (I wasn't going to buy Baku, I wasn't going to...I wasn't...but I did-the start of my downfall); spending most mornings changing & cleaning tanks; spending a fortune on tanks, heaters, supplies, books & plants; spend hours worrying about when something goes wrong and then as soon as there is another aquarium store or my regular betta/aquarium shops get new bettas in... I spend hours looking to assure myself that I already have the most beautiful bettas possible (Still just the 3......it's probably good I have limited space. I need time to work to earn money to pay the bills...I spend way too much time with my fishy boys)

When you keep a large bottle of vinegar and de-chlor next to the sink, and use NovAqua+ as a hand lotion -  because you never know when you might have to reach into a tank.

 Cool

*sigh* yep thats me too. it never fails i put lotion on and poof there goes my hand in the tank. has happend a few times and i've been lucky not to lose any fish from it

i need to invest in some of those fish tank size disposable gloves

so, now that I own a betta, I have an excuse for not using lotion? awesome! I knew there was a good reason for getting a fish!

<3 Betta-Babies

« Reply #319 on: July 08, 2009, 07:33:41 AM »

...When all you can think about is buying more tanks and getting more betta-babies...

...I HAD one... Now I have three....

...When you can have a 2+ hour conversation about what a betta needs and how wonderful they are...

OMG.... madness.... I <3 my betta-babies!!!
