I have about 8 fry growning in my 2.5 and it looks like their is about 30+ fry in this batch so i have a lot of fry.

um queston/ i want to be sure in my tank is what really looks like bubble nest and that means my betta is ready to mate right??!

So long as both male and female have been properly conitioned for breeding using good food and good water conditions, you should be set to set up the pair. 
A male bubblenesting is always a good sign of readiness to breed.

i have always been told to not have more than one betta in a tank.. but, i have been learning from here that you can keep multiple females in a tank together (sorority i think you all call it) and apparently you can have a male and female in the same tank as well (how else are fry's had? lol i am a blonde at times i swear lol).  i have a beautiful velvet blue betta female and would love to get her a male and try to get them to spawn. i do have (or about to have) a community tank. tank is 12 gals and fully cycled. currently there are 2 neon danio's and my female betta (betty) i will be putting a cory in there later today or a pleco, i'm undecided on that currently and i would love to get a male betta as well.  (2 new fish to a newly cycled tank is my limit for the month) so, i wanted to make sure it is ok to have the male in that tank as well as my female and other community fishies and do the betta's have to be the same species? she is not fancy or anything, just a vibrant velvety blue color and i would love to get a king male or fantail male for her.  ideas?  help on what to do?  here is a pic of my betty boopers..

Males are females are only put together when breeding, after, that they are separated.  A breeding tank should not have any other bright colored fish because male will probably attack them or any fish that might eat the eggs or fry. You can always have a male in his own 2gallon and then set up a special breeding tank for the two?

ok, i do have a new 2 gal i just got to replace my other one as a cat knocked it over and cracked it. it was my females home lol  but, now it is just empty with water and decor in it as i don't have the heart to put betty back into a small tank and she gets alone with my other fish no problems (as long as they stay away from her shoe lol)  ty for the info... if i get a male, he will go into the 2 gal tank.  i've read about conditioning the tank/fish for breeding.. how is this done? and does it matter the species of betta i get?  i think my female is a plakat?

Do you have pictures of your female? That will help us determine her tail type.

However, how long have you had her? When bettas reach the pet store for retail sale they are usually already 4-6 months old. So if you've had her for a few months she could be too old to safely breed right now. I wouldn't breed any betta over 10-12 months old.

No, you cannot keep a male and female betta together. In the wild, the female would have plenty of space to get away from any male who was unwilling to share his space, in a tank she would be injured or killed. Yes, you can have a female sorority. In your 12 gallon tank you can do up to 7 or 8 females if they are the only fish in the tank. You would need to heavily plant it and provide them with lots of caves to hide in if need be while they establish a pecking order or hierarchy. This can be the defining point of a sorority's life, the females will either nip and bicker until they have established a hierarchy or they may attempt to kill one another.

If you want to breed bettas you'll need a heated and gently filtered cycled 10 gallon tank, half filled with water, lot of plants/places for the female to hide if needed, live foods for the fry and to condition the pair you're breeding, a grow-out tank of at least 20-30 gallons (also heated, gently filtered, cycled), and space for lots of small individual tanks to separate the males when they start to get nippy with their siblings.
