I agree^ Sorority's really require at least 3 bettas but even that rarely works out. In my experience having about 6-12 works nicely but you need a big enough tank with LOTS of hiding spots. 10 gallons in considered minimum size. Wink

For example this was my 12 gallon:

A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Ca-na-da is that big country to your North...oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary. Come naked.

I really wish I read up on things before storekeepers start putting ideas in my head. I should have realized that a three gallon tank wasn't big enough. It's hardly big enough for my one male betta.

But I really like the idea of using those small pots in the tanks. My largest tank is a four gallon, so they wouldn't work, but some day when I'm not compressed into an apartment, I may have to try something larger and more sorority-like.

I bought a new female betta yesterday (like I needed another one) that's just over the size of a paperclip. And the newbie survivor-of-the-pairing fish is decidedly jealous, as in flaring and swimming erratically, eating more aggressively and pretty much right at the tip of the glass whenever I'm taking care of the newbie. I swear, this thing is toddler-fish size because I have never seen them so small at the pet store.

I think I'm stocking up my 20 gallon as a sorority again! C: I thought about rams and shellies but I think I'll wait on those. Now...the search for the perfect girls! C:

I took in a ct girl that I found on kijiji. She's so adorable and feisty. And she seem perfectly healthy too! Smiley

Her name is Fritter by the way. She is the most awesome little girl except for her sensitive stomach. Tongue
