Well, I brought Demetri home for break and I have to share this.

My dad bought a ten gallon tank for the house and Demetri is going to take up a little space while I'm home.  We acclimated him last night and let him loose.  As it turns out this gold-ish orange tetra my dad has comes right up to him and Demetri runs away!!!
Well, he's not scared now, he keeps chasing the neons, but the fact that he fled from a tetra less than half his size was hysterical!

Today Sly was constipated but the pea worked wonders in only a couple of hours! He is now back to normal.

And I am rebuilding my sorority stock! I have Venus from before and now I have Cherry. Some more females and I am on my way! I am also getting a 12 gallon eclipse that will hold my remainign guppy (once cycled) until he passes away then it shall be a second sorority!

A short betta story from me
When I first got Adrian last year, he was living in a 1gal cube on my desk. Anyhow, I was sitting at my computer, as always, and I waggled my finger at him. I didn't tap the glass or anything, just wiggled a finger near the glass.
THEN ZOOM! He swims straight up along the surface of the water in panic, bounces off the glass cover on the tank, swims straight down, bounces off the gravel...and then sat very very still for the next five minutes. I gave him a little fishy heart attack by a wiggly finger! He recovered very quickly though

Awww!!  Poor betta!  At least he is okay.  It must have given you a heart attack as well to see him freak out!

At first I thought he'd gone nuts but he was fine, a little later I fed him and he was back to his usual fishpiglet self

I was pretty shocked at first and then nearly peed myself laughing. Probably comes from me being an easy to startle person myself, and having my fish react in a similar way I have to loud noises was just silly and sad and funny at the same time.

Here is my betta story.

a few days ago my fiance and I picked up a lovely red and black CT male. Well this little guy would make a good non smoking ad. I'm a smoker bt because of the kids I smoke outside. Well since he was only a day old I would check him every few hours. So I grabbed a smoke and threw in into my mouth and was about to head outside, I stopped to check on him with the smoke still in my mouth. He flared up at the smoke and tried to attack it. I guess even my fish think I should quite! LOL he has now since been named Scrapper.

Only haveing one betta is killing me.I am so used to have 2 or 3 of them.I am thinking about getting another sometime soon.Liberty is the only one left of my 4.

So since my last post I got 7 female bettas for my 12 gallon sosority and the sorority is goign really well! Their names are Rocket, Cherry, Soldrak, Fusion, Jill, Jem, Aztec. And Venus from my former 20 gallon sorority also moved into this tank.

Then last night I got a cute SD(or HM) boy from a lps. He is so handsome and so fiesty and cute! I will post pics in a few mins.

I know I do. I have desided to wait intil nov.to get more bettas.This month was one of my kitty's b-day (Zippy my heart kitty turned 9 today)and I went alittle overboard with presents.

  Happy birthday to Zippy! My girl cat, Tazmin, just turned 16.
 My crowntail Shoki flared at my friend the other day, who has never seen a flaring betta
face-on (he has seen my 2 boys flare at each other). Boy, was he shocked. I call it getting fish-faced.   Shoki fish-faces me all the time & tries to bite my finger through the glass.
 He did bite my finger the other day & has leaped up to try to bite my face. I'm really glad Shoki's small!
