Here's my Golden Wonder Killifish. I don't keep my Killifish in a bowl but he's too hard to photograph in the community tank. The bowl makes his shape look a bit weird though.  Smiley

Here is one, pardon the dirty glass. I have several more but I am afraid I am not much of a photographer and my camera is a bit on the cheap side.

First of all, I want to say Hi to the forum. I am new here and decided to post a couple of pics of my fish:

My male Fundulopanchax sjoestedti:

My male Fundulopanchax gardneri Mamfensis "Faishang" (eggs courtesy of SFBAKA - Bob Tucker -; not a good pic but the best one so far...)

My male Austrolebias alexandri Ceibas (died more than a year ago, no females hatched):

Great photos all.

Tony: That Austrolebias alexandri is gorgeous! Have you seen the 'San Javier' population by any chance? I've considered switching the nigripinnis strain I'm currently owning with this species if they are the same difficulty level(nigripinnis has proved pretty easy).

Some photos of mine.

Nonamethefish, that is the only alexandri species I've raised (well, only males came out...). Right now I am raising nigripinnis but I got many belly sliders (more than 50%) but hopefully will get at least a couple. By the way, the picture of my alexandri is the best one so far from any of my fishes, I had to take like 100 pictures before getting a really good one (in my opinion). How do you keep your gardneri posing for the picture, do you use some sort of trap to keep it close to the front glass?

Nessa, I like your fish, especially the annulatus and the striatum (wish I had more space for tanks...).

Regards,

Tony

Hello Tony:

I'm the same guy that replied to your posting on killies.com just in case you didn't realize that. I did have problems with bellysliders but enough hatched out of the peat that it didn't matter too much. I've had a few juveniles turn into bellysliders also though.

The gardneri happened to be cooperating during a water change(parked in front of the tank) so I took those 2 shots quickly(they are a bit overexposed though as much of his color was washed out). No trap etc. used. I've found nigripinnis tough to photograph. How big is that male alexandri btw?

Here's a better photo

Nessa: Great photos! Love that annulatus Smiley

Now I figure.... Grin My nigripinnis are still alive. Last time I hatched the gardneri I noticed that some fry looked like belly sliders but over time they developed OK. I am doing the same with the nigripinnis, just levaing them develop. I saw that they are usually in the bottom of the raising tray and maybe some are not really belly sliders. Even the larger fry when they see me they start swimming at the bottom but yesterday I saw that I have more than 5 or 6 normal fry.

My male gardneri never wants to cooperate and especially now he is so frightened because I separated him from his females to increase the chance of getting eggs. I really like the color of your gardneri, mine is usually paler blue and the red marks are not that intense, not sure if I am doing something wrong, have a pH of 6.8, temp of 24-25? C, small power filter (Azoo mignon filter) and no light other than what enters through the window (not direct exposure). I feed them tubifex, grindal worms, sometimes brine shrimp, micro pellets and high protein pellets. If you have any tips I will really appreciate it.

The male alexandri was about 4 cm, how big are your nigripinnis? I noticed that some fry are darker than other but not sure if it's my imagination.

Regards,

Tony
