I don't think they are legal in California. I know that somebody released some in the park pond in San Francisco and now there are thousands of them. I always wanted to go catch one for myself when I was living up there.
it's true. ACF and ADFs are illegal in cali because of an ecothreat. |

I've suspected adf's of a few "disappearances" but after thoughts, they tend to move slower, have no teeth or tongue.

Yea. Adf's arn't equipped for attack so much, more to graze or scavenge. An small shrimp or insect would be about the best that I could see one killing and eating.
The other adf might of simply died, and the scavenger instinctive would of identified his brother as food.
I wouldn't blame the adf.
Perhaps you can get him another buddy?

35 litres: 3 White cloud mounatin minnows, 2 African dwarf frogs and a few baby snails.
Hoping to get a couple of Gold mounatin minnows and otos.
5.5 litre: A few plant clippings and hopefully some shrimp.
