Well we don't have one of these yet so why not eh? We are as good as THOSE FISH PEOPLE lol

My ADF home :

You put the frog in the coconut... To cute to see a little frog head pop out the side and take off to his next destination :

One of the stars :

(I wish my frogs had names, I'm thinking of calling them all the same thing. I can't tell 'em apart except for one LOL)

This was my frog and his old tank mate who has passed away. His shell lives on as a decoration in another tank, RIP Sad :

Froggie porn? Nope just being cute! Don't show this to your other frogs! They might think otherwise :aktion031: :

Tank mates being a little to friendly-_-, they make great friends otherwise. Every now and then the snails float on or near the frogs lol! Fun to watch the little guys go running. They love lounging on the snail when he's just chilling around water level(as seen above) :

More to come of course, I'm getting a few more froggies and maybe a few red cherry shrimp. Also the frogs LOVE the plant, it gives them some shade and hanging, lounging area for when they're super duper lazy.

If this could be stickied that would be cool

I jus got 2 African clwed frogs, originally though they were ADFs but no front webbing. Anywho, here's one of them:

....now if we can just get Mere to dig out her camera!!!!

Hey!  I saw that, Lori!

I think this is a great idea DL.  Even though I had read a lot about ADFs, it was photos of other people's ADFs that convinced me to bring one home with me.  Some people, far more skilled with their cameras than I am, are very good at capturing their amusing personalities.

Hn, nervous about posting this here, for fear of overage fees on bandwidth.

So I'll post it for a little while, and then remove it:

African Dwarf Frogs, a mov file. 4MB large, no audio. Just two frogs mosey-ing around a 10gal tank. My third one is apparently camera shy...

*edited: for url. Hey, I'm shocked. No attacks, no overages. Thanks, guys. Smiley

Thanks. Smiley They're really active in there, now, even after I introduced my female betta. When they smell bloodworm in the water, it's like a freeforall in there.

Everytime I see them in one of their standing zen positions, I think that it looks like I caught them in the middle of singing, "Gotta Dance!"

Haha Soritan that's a great video! Definaetly know about the free for all with blood worm smell, try just adding a little squirt of the juice before actually feeding. It seems to get them into hunting mode so when I actually feed they end up eating more quickly. I bet they love havin' a 10g tank, mine do Smiley.

I've tried a few different bettas in with my frogs. The only one that doesn't bug the frogs is my blue female. She sure does love the blood worms though. I felt bad for one of my male bettas when they were together, he was trying to eat some worms off the ground (he's red)and the frog mistook his tail for a worm. Boy did he flip out, took a few seconds for the frog to let go while he flew around trying to get it off. Happily though it didn't damage him at all, I guess ADF's don't have big chompers.

Yeah, I have a few at my website, www.soritan.info

It's an ugly tank. *laugh* I'm working on it, though. I'll be adding two more plants this week (today or tomorrow), and changing out the substrate for sand, so that it's more solid and bloodworms have a harder time getting lost in there. Lots of nooks and crannies for frogs to get lost in.  I'm thinking of taking out 1 piece of bogwood and replacing it with 2 coconut shell caves, though.

That's my most recent picture. Only 3 ADFs in a 10G tank, those are some happy frogs.

Thank you, those plants were expensive, but definitely worth it.

I've thought of getting 2 more ADFs a couple times. Oo I can fit 2 more in there, but at the same time.... 3's enough. *laugh* Awesome little pets. I'm always glad I got them, instead of a community fish tank. It's so much more simple to feed my tank all the same food. Ghost shrimp eat the excess, and betta eats bloodworms too. It's an active tank. I've been told once or twice (before I set it up), that the tank would be 'boring' and 'still' with just shrimps, frogs, and a single betta.

For anyone considering this set up, do it. It's a great tank, relatively easy care. I got lucky and the first female betta I tried wasn't a frog-killer. The only thing I wish I could do over again, was select the number of shrimp I put in there. I think about 4 would be perfect, rather than 7. I'm going to be rehoming 3-4 of those guys in my other betta's tank (a 5g).

I think the tank looks pretty good.  Can't wait to see it with sand!  Hope your plants like the stuff.  I know the ADFs will.  Ours kind of nestles down in it, like a big cozy comforter.

For our 10-gallon tank, I buy a dozen ghost shrimp at a time.  Healthy ADF poo is kind of messy, because it breaks up into smaller granules.  The ghost shrimp keep the sand spotless.  They also make the tank look fuller and busier.  Can't believe your Betta doesn't chase them?
