siamese - you might want to consider putting another 1 or 2 female bettas in that tank.  3 of them might have some aggression issues.  Not sure about the cories - I have a 10g female tank with 8 female bettas in it, and they do wonderfully.  Lots of live plants and lots of eagle-eye watching on the bioload, but with lots of live plants and frequent small water changes, it's a dream tank.   :)

I don't have any Oto's, but I do have cories. I've been thinking about the otos thoug, ad they actually had some in at our LFS last weekend. My BF and I are thinkng of getting a nice bing 29 gallon tank, and I think we'll be getting some if we get the tank up and running. :) They do look like very neat fish though.

I'd get some ore info about food though. I'm not exactly sure about this issue.  :-\

Momma, you know you've got way too many fish in that tank, right? The most you should have in there is 5 - and no more ( because of the one inch of slim boddied fish per gallon of water.). You're overstocked by 3 fish and although it's running nicely now, things are going to get messy down the road. There's just not enough water space for all of them, ad no matter how many plants ad hidey.s they is just not enought territory for them. If you want 8 females in a soroity, you're going to have to take either 3 out and start another, or get a larger tank.

Please, if you want your fish to be healthy and safe and comfortable, either take a few out, or get a bigger, roomier tank.  :(

Wow 8 female bettas does sound like a dream tank! I think sorortity tanks are so awesome. Did you have to add them all at once or just a few at a time?

There really isn't enough room in a 10 gallon for 8 females. I wouldn't do more than 5. If you're going by the inch per gallon rule, that is 6 inches over the limit, considering bettas are about 2 inches long.

Siamese - you can only have a max of 5 females in a10 gallon sorority tank. There's not enough room or cover otherwise, and the bioload would be way too much.

And yes, you should pet them all into the tank together to they can establish territory and a pecking order bewtween them.

Yes, otherwise some will claim territories and fight off the new comers who are trying to find their own territories.
