Hello everybody here at petfish.net

I'm new here but I looked through the catfish board and there are a lot of otocinclus questions.  I just wanted to let you know of a website I've started putting up which is dedicated to the otocinclus keeping and (hopefully) breeding.  Please take a look and let me know what you think!   Grin

Thanks,

I learned a lot about them (including that I might have starved some in the past, but also, they didn't die because of me.)

The Otos I have right now seem pretty fine (one I had for just over a month, the two other ones I've been in my tank for only a week, though), but they totally destroyed (with the help of my guppies I suspect) an anachoris plant....

I'm gonna have to use the zucchini method as all my other fish totally eat the algea wafers before the otos even realize there's food for them (and the cories that do eat the wafers) in the tank.

I hope you don't mind if I sticky this topic, as I imagine this will help quite a few people!

Not that I know of...

They are very gentle fish, the only time I saw an oto annoying another fish it was another oto....

But I'm not a specialist, I had my first oto less than three months ago... So far, I'm really happy with them, except with their high mortality rate (at least at the beginning from what I heard)

tiresius; your avatar is hilarious! Grin

I loked at the feeding area of your page.  I had an oto in a 5G that used to go nuts when I fed the other fish vinegar eels!  Have you ever seen this?

I did see my oto sucking the slime off my gouramis; not very often though.

these are really great fish in my opinion. i've found (at least with mine) that they sulk if they're alone, but perk up fast if given a friend.

I found a breeding page. This is an interesting page over all, but this is just the breeding and fry page.
