Most generally a betta can go into a community tank, but it depends on 2 factors:

1.) What is the temperment of your betta towards the other fish

and,

2.) What type of fish are in the community tank?

Some fish can't be put with a bettas as they are either too aggressive towards the other fish, or the fish are too agressive towards the betta.

If you'd like to explain what type of fish are in your community tank we can help you see if you can put your betta in there. :)

Unfortunately, your betta may or may not get along with even the most peaceful of tankmates.  It's always a risk.  Even if they should get along for a while, there's no guarantee they will always tolerate each other.

I have found it's safest to keep bettas in solitary confinement, with their tank positioned so that they can see other fish.
