I was so excited to hear that there was a Smoky Mountain Aquarium Society!
How sad that it appears to be defunct.  Sad  Wha happened?
I found out, it is no more:

"As of the end of this year we are closing down.
We just could not seem to get the club off the ground.

Thanks for your support.

Yep, that was a sad day indeed.  I faithfully travelled 9 hours each way to see these folks, and loved every minute of it!  The good news is that we all still keep in touch, and still get together.  Our next meeting is planned sometime in October when the weather is nice.  Dino's Fishhouse is now open, and there promises to be delightful fishies there for sale or trade.  Of course, I will probably be bringing my usual healthy guppy grass for those needing some, and who knows what else will be in the mix!  Here's a link of our last meeting which was awesome!  We would love to have new folks come meet us and join in the fun.  It's always a wonderful long weekend for me filled with antiquing, fishie stuff, and possibly a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium if enough folks want to go.  Please join us next time!

The Tennessee Aquarium is an awesome place! I have been twice now. The last time I got to see a fabulous exhibit of jellyfish & other similar critters. (It was a visiting exhibit- it's not there now.)

Here's their fish page: http://www.tnaqua.org/Animals/Fish.asp#
The sea dragons are really cool creatures, too!

I'll pm you for plans to meet in Oct. I won't travel 9 hours (that IS faithful!), but I would travel to Chatt. (I live in Knoxville.) which I'm guessing is where the meetings were held.

Dino's Fishhouse is in Englewood, which is between Knoxville and Chattanooga.

The 9 hour drive is so worth it for me.  These folks are my friends, and I met them all online learning how to keep fish.  We usually get folks from NC, Ohio, Nashville, and me from Florida.  They are all such great folks, and we always have a great weekend.  It will be great to meet you!   Wink

So, is this a building on his private residence where he keeps his aquatic life? Or is it a commercial site?

I live in Tallahassee.

EMc,
The Fishhouse is on private residential property.  His 5 year plan is to start a fish store.  I think the building he is looking at is off exit 11 from I-75.  The Fishhouse will probably continue to be a breeding place once the store is in operation.  You will be welcome at Dinos Fishhouse the next time we meet.   Wink
