I believe that FINS is no longer around.

There is a MCA Nebraska Chapter though.  You can contact them for more info at nebchapter@midwestcichlid.com or checkout the website at www.midwestcichlid.com

Apparently, I am the only person in Nebraska that keeps fish! Wow. This is kind of sad.

HAAS - KCFishClub Fall Swap Meet

Saturday, October 24 2009, 10:00 - 16:00

Setup 10:00 to 11:00 am
Open to public at 11:00 am
Start teardown at 3:00 pm
Out the door by 4:00 pm

Event Registration Detail: http://www.kcfishclub.org/fall-swap-meet.html

Save the date - on October 24th the Heart of America Aquarium society will be holding their first Swap Meet!

Table registration open on September 26th at 8am! Sellers - get ready to pick out your tables!

Use the discount code "earlybird30" on the registration form and receive 30% off your table registration. Code will no longer work if 1) we sell all the tables, 2) after Oct. 10th.

Where: Palmer Center (same place as our auctions)

When: October 24th

Buyer Cost: HAAS Members and household - FREE. $1.00 for "non HAAS members" 16 years and older. Each rental table comes with free admission for non member seller plus one guest to work table. (Each table gets two chairs)

Sellers - Reserve your tables on the "Event Registration" tab.

What is it? Think of this a one huge flea market / garage sale focused on the aquatic hobby. Deals will be found everywhere. Fish, equipment, food, etc. will all be for sale.

Why are we having a swap meet? Why not another auction? We wanted to give people a different... venue - one where they can talk one on one with the breeder of the fish or the person with knowledge about the things they are selling. Another advantage is that you know what time it will end at!

What will your strategy be? First in line to find that hard to get species of fish? Last to buy right before the bell to steal that bag of fish so the "owner doesn't have to take it home"? Or will you pace yourself - learning as much as possible - making the decisions throughout the day. How about all three?

Rules:
Fish hobby related items only!
HAAS will provide table only. Seller provides everything else.
Seller and buyer conduct their own deals and money transactions.
Seller receives 100% of sale, no split to club.
Seller must abide by HAAS time schedule for the Swap.
Buyer must abide by HAAS time schedule for the Swap.
Buyers will not be allowed in display area until the doors are open to the public. Waiting room will be provided inside of building.

There is the floor plan for the swap meet tables at the Event Registration Detail link. Please select your table(s) that you would like to reserve based on this map. Entrance to the room is in the bottom left hand corner. See pricing information on the registration form. Note you can only select one table number per registration. Sellers are allowed to register for multiple tables if you need more room. Once a table number has been selected, it will no longer be available to select from the list. Don't forget to register early to ensure you get the table you want!
