So...
Prime is good for uncycled betta tanks right?

I can't believe I have been wasting my money on stress coat this whole time!  It IS expensive.  I have seen prime before but I didn't know that it took SOOO little to treat SOO much!  I am getting it tommorrow! :D

Yup:)
Wish I had discovered it MUCH sooner.
A $4.99 bottle manages to last me 4-6 weeks in ALL of my tanks-I used to spend that weekly:)
Think next time I'm going to buy a half-gallon and start refilling the little bottles for measuring purposes ;D

I've always used the Wardley 3 in 1 water conditioner. It buffers the pH, neutralizes ammonia, and eliminates chlorine/chloramines. I've seen 3 different versions of this for different pH levels- 7.0, 6.5, and 7.5 (there may be more than that).

Its one of the only conditioners I've seen that buffers the pH on top of killing ammonia/chlorine/chloramines

I have used prime for some time but though I am not 100% sure, the last time I had used it caused irreparable damage to one of the tanks. Due to a reaction caused an increase of ammonia and deaths of a number of angelfish ensued. But still I consider it as value for money.

I had Prime go wonky on me once as well and I lost alot of fish.  It's like it just didn't work that one time.  I used it in 2 tanks - the same amount as I always use - and within minutes of adding new water I had fish floating in both tanks.  I even contacted my water company to see if there had been any changes in the chemicals they use that might have accounted for the deaths.  But according to the report they sent me no changes had been made in many months.

I keep a VERY close eye on my tank when I add water if I'm using Prime.  I like it for uncycled tanks or tanks that are in the process of cycling, but I don't trust it 100% anymore.

for some odd reason i can use prime just fine now... but for the last five, six years i could not use prime in my tanks.. my fish would go nuts shortly after it was added.. they'd start scratching themselves on the rocks like crazy till i did a water change and used aquasafe instead..

but early this year or perhaps late last year i decided to try it again and no probs. so i went in and bought a big bottle
i'm in my own happy little world. dont worry. they know me there.

Nice Nice List!

I use Prime in the tank but I do have the Tetra EasyClear in my chemicals box to try out also.

I always wondered what the REAL difference was!  Thanks OP!

Tetra Aqua safe saved my Botia Modesta after it jumped out of my tank.
When I found him dried out I put him in a 2liter tub and put in 30ml Aqua safe, 3 months later he is still alive and well.

I don't need any Water Conditioner, I get all my water out of a borehole.
I don't  need to put it out and wait a few days.
I take the garden hows and fill all my tanks strait from the earth,so no chemicals, just pure water.

But I keep Aqua safe for emergency.

I don't see the other Water Conditioners you guys use, I see tetra,Daro(this is a South African product so you wont see it), and Aqua Master.
