Someone once said to me that raising fish was dorky.  But I'm sure this overgeneralizing individual never got to know all of the world's aquarists.

Lets all introduce ourselves, what we do, and our interests!  Perhaps we should make a poll but I dunno what to put on it.

I'll start:

Psychology Undergraduate Student, working at a film school facility at USC, take shinkendo (Japanese swordsmanship), like to collect swords and other shiny sharp things.  Working to be a movie weapons choreographer.

I am a newspaper reporter turned computer technician. They figured it was cheaper to move me into the position than hire someone who knew what they were doing. LOL

I really only have two collections. The first is Star Trek books. I have around 120 or so. Haven't bothered to count, but I have a bookshelf full of nothing but Star Trek books.

I also collect movie trailers off the internet. My collection has grown to nearly 1,500.

Hallo!
I?ve been lurking for a while, and posting here and there but I thought I?d make a formal introduction

In real life I work in an accounting department, which is weird since I never took an accounting class!
Hobby wise I:
Go to garage sales/thrifts/flea markets and have been known to dumpster dive from time to time : )

I play in a band called Grover Kent.  You can visit our site at www.yourfavoriteband.com
I collect movies.  I used to collect Godzilla and other Japanese toys, but I?m thinking of selling them since I?d like a house someday.

I have a Betta at work, he?s blue (almost electric blue!), with some red highlights, and he?s very grumpy.  His name is Albert.  Albert Finny, in fact.

I?m still trying to convince my wife we need a tank at home.  I have a little 1G that I feel like setting up while she?s out one day and seeing what happens : )

Nice place you have here.

I am a security officer for a fortune 500 Bio Pharmacutical Research company.  I am about to get my own site though.  So I am looking forward to that.  I am new to this Fish Keeping thing and am looking forward to all of your help and knowledge.  I hope that in the future I can help out as well.

Well, right now my "job" is creating websites for personal and business from home.

But I do enjoy making websites and graphics on my own.
I'm trying to learn more about Japanese culter, I'm learning to read/write and speak it and hopefully will be visiting Japan next spring.
Everything else revolves around the living creatures in my home. I have a lot of pets, and I'm envolved in rescue work, so I'm always studying on Companion Animal Nutrition, Behavior and Training.

I KNOW that I'm a geek, and I'm happy this way Smiley

Wow, looks like we have quite a diverse group around here.  Seems that anybody can be a fish enthusiast.  Perhaps that guy across the street is too?

I have a picture of my tank on my computer at work. My former boss (when I was in that department) walked up and saw the picture. Even from the blurry image of the fish in motion, he was able to identify the type of fish we had. "Danios. Those are good starter fish," he said.
