Origin: This killifish ranges from the Gulf of St. Lawrence to the Gulf of Mexico
Temperature: 65-74°F (18-23°C), but very adaptable
Ease Of Keeping: Extremely easy
Aggressivness: Not very aggressive, but very curious and playful which makes it unsuitible as a tankmate for shy fish.
Lighting: Any
Adult Size: 5" (13cm)
Minimum Tank Size: 20 Gallons
Feeding: Floating food.
Comments: This beautiful and hardy killifish makes a great fish for the aquarium. The male is a mix of colored dots, while the female is more subdued in coloration. Keep at least one male and three females in a brackish-water tank with some plants and driftwood, and they will be content. You can catch them in salt marshes and esturaries, or buy them at a bait shop. Be sure to treat them for parasites if do the latter.
